Big Lou learned her love of the accordion in the honky tonks of Texas. Many of the piano players in the local bands around Austin would occasionally pick up an accordion and launch into a polka. It seemed like the thing to do, so she did it. After years of hauling a piano around to gigs, Lou switched gears and began playing the accordion exclusively. She played with punk icons Polkacide, and founded Those Darn Accordions!
In addition to her Oktoberfest band, Lou plays with French quartet "Innuendo". French music is her first love these days. She delights in playing with others and solo at parties, weddings and celebrations of all kinds.
Lou teaches accordion lessons. She teaches all ages, both reading and playing by ear.
